Panuozzo di Gragnano is a typical sandwich from Campania, characterized by pizza dough, a rich garnish and a surprising length of 30 centimeters

When you think of Campania and its gastronomic specialties, the thought immediately goes to Neapolitan pizza, the undisputed queen of Neapolitan dishes. Among the many worthy heirs of a classic pizza, made with the same dough but characterized by different shapes and condiments, there is a really special one, namely The Panuozzo from Gragnano. This type of sandwich pizza, similar to the saltimbocca but with much larger dimensions, the panuozzo is a typical product of the city of Gragnano (Naples) where it was invented in the early 80s in the historic Pizzeria Mascolo.
